Velo City is a unique cycling conference that brings together the global cycling community. Since the Velo City series began in 1980 it has played a valuable part in promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transportation for all. The main goal of the conference is to leave delegates enriched and inspired after a week full of vibrant discussions and knowledge exchange on the present and future of cycling developments from around the world. I’m eager to showcase my city on an international stage. Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and sustainability capital of the SE Europe, a quickly developing city with a clear vision to create multi-purpose, shared spaces and pursuing the goal of putting the quality of life at the forefront. Velo City Ljubljana will be about disseminating high-quality information on cycling, showcasing global best practices, integrating cycling into relevant policy sectors and encouraging the greater use of cycling.
