HERMIN TEXTILE – Innovation in Natural Functional Fabrics

Taiwan Textile Excellence, Driven by Innovation

Since its founding in 1976, HERMIN TEXTILE has been a leading manufacturer of Natural Functional Fabrics, Eco-Friendly Fabrics, Outdoor and Performance Fabrics, and Knitted Textiles. Their Custom Garment Manufacturing offers a broad range of Ready-to-Wear and Non-Apparel Fabrics.

HERMIN TEXTILE was established during Taiwan’s economic transformation, at a time when the island was rising as a global textile powerhouse. Starting with natural fiber-based woven plaid fabrics in its Tainan facility, HERMIN quickly gained recognition for quality craftsmanship using cotton, silk, linen, and wool. But in the face of price competition, HERMIN took a bold step—investing in value-added innovation, especially in the areas of sustainable, natural fiber fabrics with advanced functionality.

Today, HERMIN partners with global leaders in fiber technology from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the USA to engineer cutting-edge fabrics that are both eco-conscious and performance-driven. From yarn development and dyeing to weaving, lamination, finishing, and cut-and-sew, HERMIN offers a vertically integrated supply chain that ensures full control over product quality, lead time, and environmental impact.

The Natural Laboratory: Science Meets Sustainability

At the core of HERMIN’s mission is The Natural Laboratory project, a pioneering initiative exploring bionics and natural fiber engineering. This project aims to transfer high-performance attributes—like waterproofing, stretch, and durability—into organic and renewable fibers using eco-friendly processes.

Recent breakthroughs include:

Cotton Shell® – A 100% organic waterproof cotton fabric, PFC-free.

Cotton Down® – A down-proof organic cotton solution offering natural insulation without synthetic linings.

Banantex® – The world’s first waterproof textile made from banana plant fibers, promoting reforestation and fair-trade farming in the Philippines.

These developments offer a real alternative to synthetic materials—without sacrificing performance.

Specialized Fabric Technologies: Manufacturing Expertise

At HERMIN, manufacturing is not just about volume—it’s about precision, innovation, and customization. Key strengths include:

Small-Batch to Large-Scale Production: With MOQs as low as 100 pieces per style, HERMIN supports startups, boutique labels, and enterprise brands alike. Large orders benefit from attractive pricing tiers and streamlined logistics.

Full Garment Manufacturing: From design development to sampling and final production, HERMIN manages custom garment manufacturing under one roof. This reduces sourcing complexity and helps clients accelerate their time to market.

Cutting-Edge Fabric Processing: HERMIN’s state-of-the-art facilities support specialized treatments such as eco-dyeing (EZ Dye Technology), lamination, coating, and functional finishing. The result is consistent, high-performance textiles with sustainable attributes.

In-House Lab & R&D Team: Our laboratories test yarns, fabrics, and finishes using global standards. Our R&D team works hand-in-hand with fiber innovators in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, the USA, and Taiwan, constantly experimenting with new weaving structures, yarn blends, and surface treatments.

Quick Turnaround with TEXTIP AI Platform: Our proprietary TEXTIP stock fabric system allows clients to instantly locate ready-made textiles from across Taiwan’s top mills — enabled by AI-powered visual search. Ideal for fast fashion, sample development, and urgent replenishment.

Custom Garment Manufacturing

HERMIN offers full-service apparel development, including CAD design, fashion trend analysis, fabric simulation with Penelope software, and complete CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) services.

Eco-Friendly Fabric

HERMIN uses organic cotton (GOTS-certified), recycled polyester/nylon, and plant-based materials. Eco-friendly coatings like bee wax, non-solvent PU, and PET from recycled bottles offer functionality with sustainability.

BNS Bouncy Technology

HERMIN’s patented BNS Bouncy Technology enables natural fibers like cotton, Tencel®, and Modal® to become stretchable—without the use of spandex or Lycra®. This innovation relies on custom weaving rather than chemical fibers to create sustainable stretch fabrics that enhance breathability and offer improved recyclability and biodegradability.

Outdoor / Performance Fabric

Designed for extreme environments, HERMIN’s high-density waterproof cotton and laminated blends deliver durability, weather resistance, and comfort—ideal for outdoor jackets, winter coats, and athletic wear. Coatings such as silicone, PU, and TPU, combined with ultra-dense weaving, enhance waterproofing and wind resistance while retaining lightweight strength and breathability.

Knitted Textile

Produced using advanced circular and flat knitting machines, HERMIN’s knits combine soft comfort with technical capabilities. HERMAN uses sustainable yarns like organic cotton, recycled synthetics, Tencel®, and blended yarns—perfect for sportswear, loungewear, and eco-apparel.

Non-Apparel Fabric

HERMIN offers specialty coatings and constructions that meet technical requirements for textiles widely used in bags, gear, and industrial applications. Coating options include acrylic, PU, silicone, and organic wax—each tailored for specific performance and durability needs. Non-apparel fabrics offer enhanced abrasion resistance, water repellency, and shape retention.

Bonded/Lamination Fabrics

These multi-layer textiles combine natural fibers with high-performance membranes to offer waterproofing, insulation, comfort, and wind protection—without relying on synthetic materials.

Trusted by Global Leaders

Taiwan has long been a global leader in textile innovation. Its investment in R&D, eco-manufacturing, and smart production has transformed the country into a sustainable textile hub. HERMIN represents the best of Taiwan, offering ethical sourcing and labor standards, advanced textile technologies, and strategic access to Asian markets for shorter lead times and reliable supply chains.

Global Brands

HERMIN’s manufacturing quality and innovation have earned the trust of top-tier fashion and outdoor brands. RALPH LAUREN, TOMMY HILFIGER, THE NORTH FACE, J.CREW, BANANA REPUBLIC, CROCODILE, LEVI’S, and many more rely on HERMIN for fabric innovation, consistent quality, and dependable manufacturing expertise.

HERMIN TEXTILE is not just a fabric mill—it is an innovation partner. Whether you're designing a technical outdoor jacket, developing a cozy knit collection, or launching a new designer brand, HERMIN TEXTILE is your best choice for sustainable fabric manufacturing and innovation.

TAWA Supermarket Case: How Tai Dragon Improved Fresh Produce Packaging Freshness, Efficiency, and Output in California
In fresh produce retail, packaging is not simply the final step before products reach store shelves. It directly affects freshness, appearance, handling efficiency, and how confidently consumers choose what they buy. For supermarkets and produce packing operations, the challenge is clear: how can fresh vegetables be packed faster and more consistently without sacrificing quality? This was the practical issue facing TAWA Supermarket in California. With more than 60 supermarket locations across the region, TAWA relies on a central market operation to select fresh vegetables from nearby farms and prepare them for retail distribution. To support this high-volume workflow, TAWA needed a packaging solution that could protect produce quality, improve operating efficiency, and keep up with growing output demand. This case shows how Tai Dragon Machinery Co., Ltd. helped address those needs through its vegetable packing machines and labeling solutions.
