What Is an Electro-Permanent Magnetic Chuck (EEPM)?

An Electro-Permanent Magnetic Chuck combines the advantages of both permanent and electro-magnetic systems. It uses an electrical pulse (lasting just 1–3 seconds) to magnetize or demagnetize the chuck, but once magnetized, no continuous electrical supply is required to maintain the magnetic force. This not only enhances energy efficiency but also increases operator safety by ensuring the magnetic hold is maintained even in the event of a power failure.

Key Features of EEPM Chucks:

Instant ON/OFF operation in 1–3 seconds

No power needed during operation

Stable and high clamping force

Heat-free operation, preserving workpiece accuracy

Compatible with CNC and automated systems

Highly customizable for various applications

Earth-Chain’s Comprehensive Product Line

Universal Arm Magnetic Stand ECE Series

These versatile magnetic arms are perfect for measuring instruments, sensors, or tools. Precision engineering ensures firm placement and stability across complex setups.

The Importance of High-Quality Magnetic Workholding and Lifting Equipment

In industrial applications, magnetic workholding systems like EEPM Chucks and lifting magnets eliminate the need for mechanical clamps, reducing deformation, setup time, and vibration during machining. They also enhance the accuracy of cuts and allow full access to all sides of the workpiece.

When choosing magnetic systems, key factors to consider include:

Magnetic Force Stability: To prevent slippage and ensure consistent performance.

Heat Management: Systems should operate without generating heat that affects accuracy.

Energy Efficiency: Systems like EEPM that don’t require continuous power save energy and increase safety.

Customization Capability: Tailored solutions optimize clamping and lifting for specific workpieces.

TAWA Supermarket Case: How Tai Dragon Improved Fresh Produce Packaging Freshness, Efficiency, and Output in California
In fresh produce retail, packaging is not simply the final step before products reach store shelves. It directly affects freshness, appearance, handling efficiency, and how confidently consumers choose what they buy. For supermarkets and produce packing operations, the challenge is clear: how can fresh vegetables be packed faster and more consistently without sacrificing quality? This was the practical issue facing TAWA Supermarket in California. With more than 60 supermarket locations across the region, TAWA relies on a central market operation to select fresh vegetables from nearby farms and prepare them for retail distribution. To support this high-volume workflow, TAWA needed a packaging solution that could protect produce quality, improve operating efficiency, and keep up with growing output demand. This case shows how Tai Dragon Machinery Co., Ltd. helped address those needs through its vegetable packing machines and labeling solutions.
